Week 15, Day 2
Objective: Washington Irving information; recognize distinctive and shared characteristics of cultures through reading; understand cultural background to literary texts, grade level vocabulary, and listening for understanding.
  1. Bell Work: Many writers write under a pen name, or a name other than their real name.  Samuel Clemens wrote under the name Mark Twain.  Washington Irving wrote under the name Jonathan Oldstyle.  Write reasons why you might use a pen name rather than your own pen name. Invent a pen name for yourself.

  3. Do the Literary Terms and Vocabulary for "The Devil and Tom Walker" by Washington Irving--due Thursday.  Today is the only class time you will have to work on it.  Please add these to your Lit. Term and Vocab. for Stories spreadsheets you have already started.
