Objective: Poetry, Vocabulary Development
- Bell Work #4-Define mood. How does a writer create a certain mood in his/her short stories, poems, etc.? What kind of mood does Poe create in the two poems we have read: "Eldorado" and "The Bells"? (SAT words NOT needed.)

- Creativity is worth 50% of your grade and following the correct format is worth the other 50%.

- Then, give a connotative definition for what it means to be rich.

- Give an example of a sentence using assonance.

- Bell Work-None written, get your Chrome book and get ready to go to the library. You are going to meet with Mrs. Kattner today and she is going to show you some resources that are available to you. Please be on your best behavior!

- Think about the denotative definition of what it means to be rich.
- Then, think about a connotative definition for what it means to be rich.
- Read "Eldorado" and discuss rhyme scheme.

Week 7, Day 4
Objective: Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary Development
- NEW BELL WORK INSTRUCTIONS
- We will start doing Bell Work on a Google Doc in Google Classroom, until further notice. Here's how it is going to work...each day you will write the Bell Work Number (#1, #2, #3, etc.), the date, and COPY the bell work question(s) from my blog. Then you will answer the bell work. In between each bell work, please put a double or triple space, so I can easily see a distinction between entries. Also, each day, you will put the newest bell work AT THE TOP of the Google Doc.
- Also, because it is the 2nd six weeks, we are going to ADD 10 words...every day you will write at least 50 words and use at least two SAT words. The ONLY time you WON'T do this is when I SPECIFICALLY say that it doesn't have to be that long.

- Bell Work #18-Free Write
- Yes, it must be at least 40 words.
- Yes, it must have every 10th word underlined.
- Yes, it must have at least two SAT words in it, but it can be from any of the first 5 weeks of school.
- Get your bell work spiral ready to turn in:
- Count the number of bell work entries you have.
- Put the number at the end of your last bell work entry.
- Then count the number of words in each bell work entry.
- Put that number at the end of each entry.
- Make sure your first and last name is on the cover of your spiral.
- Make sure your class period is also written on the front of your spiral. (I have silver and black sharpies if you need one!)
- Turn it in to the green file box on my green chair.
