Week 21, Day 4
Objective: recognize distinctive and shared characteristics of cultures through reading; understand cultural background to literary texts, grade level vocabulary, and listening for understanding.
  1. Bell Work: Explain why the ending of the story yesterday was shocking.  
    1. Yes...at least 70 words.
    2. Yes...at least 2 SAT words from this semester.
  2. Watch "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge" by Ambrose Bierce video
  3. Open-Book Test over "An Occurrence at Owl Creek Bridge"
    1. You may use your book and work with your group.
    2. Everyone in the group will fill out a test.
    3. You must answer the questions in complete sentences.
    4. When possible, use text evidence to support your answer (with page number!)
    5. Due tomorrow at the end of class.  
  4. If time permits, work on Vocabulary and Literary Terms (p.478)

  5. Reminders:
    1. Be good for the sub.  Any names left by Mrs. Anglin due to discipline issues will result in a write-up.
    2. Vocabulary and Literary Terms due Friday at 4:00pm.
    3. I may not have access to my email during the day, but you may email me if you have questions and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
    4. Week 20 SAT Quiz corrections will be due Monday at 4:00pm.
    5. Next week I will only be at school on Monday.  If you have questions about your book project, you better ask me before I leave!
    6. Week 21 DRE due TOMORROW!
