Week 3, Day 3
Objective: Expand vocab through reading, listening, and discussing; rely on context to determine word meaning; and apply meanings of prefixes, roots, and suffixes in order to comprehend; work together cooperatively.  



  1. Bell Work: Recognizing when and where a story takes place helps you set expectations for reading.  Think of  a movie or television show you have seen recently.  What clues helped you understand the story’s setting?
  2. Bell Work Requirements
    1. Write 30 words, minimum   
    2. Underline the 10th word.  
  3. Discussion about prefixes, suffixes, roots
  4. Reminders:
    1. This week is the end of the 3 weeks.
    2. Check your grades on Skyward.
    3. Bring a book to read on Friday (not a textbook).  You should ALWAYS have a book to read with you!  ALWAYS!  (This could be a daily grade...)
    4. I don't always remind you when something is due...be responsible.  
    5. Study your SAT Words--Test Friday.  Remember these tests are cumulative and will build up to no more than 50 per test.
    6. Study! Study! Study!

    1. Due today by 4:00pm
  7. Get with your partner from yesterday and complete the worksheet listed in #3.  
  8. When finished, turn it in here.  Only one person from your group will turn the form in.
