    1. I am in the process of getting all of the grades put into SkyWard. There are LOTS of missing assignments.  I was trying to wait until all of the missing work was cleared up, but that would mean that grades would never get put in.  
    2. Stay on top of your assignments and due dates.  Turn your work in!
    3. If you have a zero for a quiz that you have taken in the last few days, it just has not been graded yet.  But I would check with me, just in case!!

  3. Continue reading Chapter 1 of The Great Gatsby
    1. Go around the room and read out loud. Everyone must read.   You may read as much as you like, however, you must read at least one sentence.  
    2. Take notes as you read.
    3. Quiz over Chapter 1 TOMORROW!!!!
  4. Remember my expectations for reading and the quizzes for The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald.  
    1. Some reading will be done out loud, as a class.  Some reading will be done by yourself, in class.  But sometimes, you might have to read on your own, for homework. (Gasp!!!)
    2. You will be expected to take notes (handwritten) as you read.  
    3. You will be able to use these notes on your quizzes over the chapters. 
    4. The quizzes will be VERY detail-oriented.
    5. If you are absent, please catch up BEFORE you return to class.  I would encourage you to get with a classmate to know how much we read.  
    6. I HIGHLY encourage you to check out Spark Notes, Cliff Notes, or other web resources IN ADDITION TO reading the text.  It will help you with understanding.  It WILL NOT take the place of reading the actual book.  Do NOT rely solely on those resources.
