    1. Brooklyne Oliveira competed in prelims of 4A UIL State Congressional Debate yesterday.  She ranked 1st in her chamber and 2nd overall (out of 53!)  All but 18 were eliminated.  Today she is competing at the State Capitol Building in Finals.  She is among the best of the best.  Think about her today!  Woo Hoo!  I am so proud!

  2. We will be watching persuasive commercials and determining whether the method of persuasion used to persuade the audience is ethos, pathos, or logos.
  3. Next, you will be using your knowledge of the methods of persuasion to create an advertisement to persuade your audience/reader to buy your product or believe in your idea.
    1. Brainstorming for Advertisement document (Google Classroom)
    2. You will need to complete this document before you begin creating your advertisement using Google Draw.

  4. Watch a brief video over the methods of persuasion: Persuasive Writing Video
  5. Identify the methods of persuasion in Antony's funeral speech in The Tragedy of Julius Caesar.
  6. Complete an activity titled How Persuasive Can You Be to practice using the three methods of persuasion. (Google Classroom)
  7. HOMEWORK (If you didn't do it last night!)- Watch TV tonight and pay close attention to the commercials.  See if you can identify which method of persuasion is used.
