  2. Bell Work #2-Today's bell work does NOT have to be 60 words and does NOT have to include an SAT word.  Identify a synonym for each of the following Act I vocabulary words:

  1. Bell Work-Get ready for your SAT Quiz.  We will begin as soon as the bell rings.
  2. W11 SAT Quiz
  3. Grade W11 DRE
  4. Yesterday, you should have read Act I, Scene I of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar on pages 893-896.
  5. Make sure your Study Questions over Act I are turned in on Google Classroom.  
  6. Rewrite Act I, Scene I in our language.
    1. In other words, you will need to rephrase the lines spoken by each character in a way that we would speak today.
    2. One of the group members will need to create a document and name it "Julius Caesar-Act I, Scene I Rewrite."
    3. Share the document with each member of your group and work together to rewrite Scene I.
    4. Act I, Scene I begins on page 893.  You will be turning this in tomorrow, DO NOT WASTE TIME!!!
    5. The following example should help get your started:
Act I, Scene I: Rome.  A Street.

  1. Bell Work #6-Identify the FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE used in each of the following sentences.  Then, EXPLAIN HOW you know which FIGURATIVE LANGUAGE is being used.
    1. The child bounced the ball at the backyard barbeque.
    2. It was a stormy night and the lightning danced across the sky.
    3. (Note-as long as you use complete sentences for your explanation, it does NOT have to be 50 words nor do you have to use SAT words.)

    1. Make a copy of this document and put it in your "Poetry" folder.
    2. It is supposed to be due today at 4:00pm.  If you work hard, I MIGHT push the due date back to Monday.
    3. It will NOT be done electronically.  This will be handwritten.  
    4. See examples.
    5. You may use any of the supplies that I have put out.

  3. Spend about 10 minutes finishing "The Bells" Quick Check (Google Classroom)
