Objective: Reading Comprehension, Vocabulary Development
HAPPY BANNED BOOKS WEEK! This is a week celebrating your FREEDOM TO READ!
- Bell Work #16-Challenged Classics with Reasons-Using the lists on the website, make a list of 5 books you'd like to read and 5 you've already read. If you come up with more...that is okay!
- I'm just looking for two lists. It does NOT have to be at least 40 words, you do NOT have to use SAT words, and you do NOT have to underline every 10th word (actually, every book title should be underlined because it is the title of a book!)
- 7th and 8th period-Video about Lynne Cox and Swimming to Antarctica (as a class)
- Watch Banned Book Videos (as a class)
- Lauren Myracle Interview
- 100 Banned Books
- BLEEP
- Banned Books
- "Religious Nuts in Texas..."
- Katie Couric on Banned Books
- Banned & Challenged Classics
- Then, you are going to create an Alternate Ending for "The Monkey's Paw" or "Contents of the Dead Man's Pocket" (Google Classroom)
- Reminders:
- Week 5 SAT Quiz corrections are due Thursday by 4:00pm.
- Bell Work will be due sometime THIS week. Be prepared!
- Friday is the last day of the first six weeks.
