  1. Bell Work #5-At the end of Act I, Cassius and Casca are heading over to visit Brutus at his house to try to convince him to join the plot to assassinate Caesar.  What do you PREDICT Brutus will decide to do?  What evidence from the play supports your PREDICTION?  (60 words-Yes! SAT words-Yes!)

  1. Bell Work #3-Write a brief summary of whether you said Caesar was a good leader or not in the paper you wrote yesterday.  (60 words-Yes! SAT words-Yes!)
  2. Turn your paper from yesterday about Caesar into the tray.
    1. Please make sure your name, date, and period are in the top right-hand corner.
  3. As a class, read the "Modern" Version of Act II.

  4.  Reminder:

  3. Due Friday
  4. Work on it for about 10-15 minutes.
  5. If you did not email me with your Act I, Scene I rewrite, please share it with me and email it to me. 
  6. Read this article about Julius Caesar.
  7. On a separate sheet of paper, write a one page response to the article stating whether you believe Caesar was a good leader. Support your position by using examples from the article. CHOOSE A SIDE! Be prepared to turn this in tomorrow. You will not have class time to work on this tomorrow.

  1. Bell Work-it is a new six weeks.  You may do your bell work in your spiral OR on a new Google Doc.  Your choice!  Title it "3rd Six Weeks Bell Work-Your Name" if you decide to do the Google Doc.  
  2. Bell Work #2-Today's bell work does NOT have to be 60 words and does NOT have to include an SAT word.  Identify a synonym for each of the following Act I vocabulary words:
    1. Replication
    2. Servile
    3. Spare
    4. Infirmity
    5. Portentous
    6. Prodigious
  3. W13 DRE
  4. Spend about 10 minutes finishing your Act I Scavenger Hunt, on paper.  
    1. You may work with your table.
    2. You only need to turn one in for your table.
    3. Put everyone's name on one of the papers.
    4. When you're done, turn in to the tray.

    2. If you don't finish in the time I give you, it is homework.  You will not have any more class time to finish it.  
    3. I will have a link on my blog for you to turn it in tomorrow.

Objective: William Shakespeare, Julius Caesar, Vocabulary Development

  1. Bell Work-Get ready for your SAT Quiz.  We will begin as soon as the bell rings.
  2. W11 SAT Quiz
  3. Grade W11 DRE
  4. Yesterday, you should have read Act I, Scene I of The Tragedy of Julius Caesar on pages 893-896.
  5. Make sure your Study Questions over Act I are turned in on Google Classroom.  
  6. Rewrite Act I, Scene I in our language.
    1. In other words, you will need to rephrase the lines spoken by each character in a way that we would speak today.
    2. One of the group members will need to create a document and name it "Julius Caesar-Act I, Scene I Rewrite."
    3. Share the document with each member of your group and work together to rewrite Scene I.
    4. Act I, Scene I begins on page 893.  You will be turning this in tomorrow, DO NOT WASTE TIME!!!
    5. The following example should help get your started:
Act I, Scene I: Rome.  A Street.

Flavius:
     Hey!  Get home you lazy people.
     Do you think this is a holiday?  Don't you understand that
     You shouldn't be out here at this time of day
     Without your work clothes on?  What do you do for a living?
